Sherwin Williams Color Palette: Color Inspired by Detour

Color Inspired is a series I do here on my blog dedicated to creating a color palette inspired by different artists like Sherwin Williams Color Palette.

Today I am so happy I stumbled upon the artwork of Thomas Evens, aka, Detour. His colorful painting, murals, and musical collaborations emit bright suggestions to highlight urban and minority subjects in color. 

The use of primary colors explodes in his work, jumping off the murals or canvas with so much life and energy. He has a local gallery and I plan on visiting it soon. Don’t worry, I will make sure I update this post to reflect that visit!

I narrowed down my choice to highlight on the post from his series, “between the hues”. Detour picked a great name and, of course, once you see the art, he already pulled out some colors to highlight. I knew I found my inspiration. He does not title any of his work, but I will update this post when I visit his gallery if I find a name.

This painting says so much without words. I am so inspired.
